Gift Certificate Policy
As of January 10th 2025, I will no longer be able to offer extensions on expired gift certificates. I typically book a minimum of two months in advance, so if your gift card is about to expire, please contact me immediately. I will do my very best to accommodate, but if there are no dates available before it expires, I will honour 50% of the gift card to book after it expires (as long as you have contacted me before it expires)
A small business owner may not accept expired gift cards because the expiration date represents a legal or contractual limit on the card’s validity. Allowing expired gift cards could create financial or logistical challenges, such as:
1. Accounting and Record-Keeping: Expired gift cards may already have been accounted for as unused revenue in the business’s financial records, making it difficult to reconcile past transactions.
2. Fairness to Customers: Accepting expired cards might set an expectation of leniency, creating inconsistencies in how the policy is enforced and leading to customer disputes.
3. Cash Flow Implications: Gift cards represent pre-paid goods or services. Accepting expired cards could lead to unanticipated losses if the funds were already reallocated or used.
